Hurricane Ike – The Aftermath in Katy, TX (9)
(Video 9 of 9) This footage was taken in Katy, Texas the morning after Hurricane Ike hit us. We had 70 mph winds for a little over 6 straight hours. Katy is a suburb of Houston, about 30 miles due west. While the winds we had were not 100+ mph like the Texas Gulf coast experienced, they were still pretty impressive given we are 50 miles inland! As you will see in these videos, 50 miles inland is not exactly a safe harbour against a massive storm like Ike was.
